THESE 5 THINGS SHOULDN’T FOLLOW YOU INTO 2020
Welcome to the New Year! It’s that time of the year when we write resolutions, reflect, assess and try to improve on various aspects of our lives.
Most of us already have set plans and goals of things to achieve and things to eliminate from our lifestyles, but here is a list of few extras that can be removed (just in case😁) to make 2020 a more productive year than 2019:
1. Not budgeting –
Not having a concrete budget for funds or not having a budget at all will lead to overspending, spending on impulse and spending frivolous which invariably leads to a shortage of funds and being broke. The first step to building wealth and being financially secured is budgeting; which is simply the process of creating a plan to spend your money.
By budgeting, it is easier to match your expenses to your income and determine in advance the amount you’ll have to do the things you need to do.
So this 2020, make it a habit to create a detailed plan of how you intend to spend your money, even before receiving it. Get a planner, a book, an app on your phone…whatever will make it easier for you to be financially accountable to yourself and loved ones. In the long run, you’ll be extremely glad you did.
2. Not planning –
In the words of Antoine de Saint-Exupèry, “a goal without a plan is just a wish”. What are your goals this 2020? What are those things you dream about, things you would like to achieve? What are your New year resolutions? Have you written them down? Have you proposed a defined and clear method of going about your attaining your goals?
Somebody once said, if given six hours to cut down a tree, he/she will take four hours to sharpen the ax. In other words, your goals are just as attainable as the level of planning given to it. So in 2020, ensure to plan your work and doubly ensure to work your plan (Napoleon Hill).
3. Procrastination –
“While we waste our time hesitating and postponing, life is slipping away.”
Procrastination is a problem that’s just as old as mankind itself which can be difficult to eradicate. But it can be managed in various simple ways:
- Know your vision
- Have a daily to-do list
- Even when you don’t feel like doing it, still do it. It may the smallest action in achieving your overall goal, still go ahead and get it done.
4. Making promises that you can’t fulfill –
This might seem like an insignificant habit that we can easily file under ‘not serious’ but since it is directly linked to your image and speaks of your character, it is very serious.
In 2020, don’t make promises you can’t deliver and if you can’t deliver, let the person know on time, take it upon yourself to apologize and attempt to make it up to the person.
5. Not investing with Menorah farms –
Before you roll your eyes, think about it slowly and deeply? If you won’t invest your money where then will you put it for it to grow more money for you? And what better-investing platform than Menorah, with its numerous benefits and advantages? Seriously, this 2020, endeavor to invest your money in a sure, safe and gratifying platform that will ensure that you not only have money all the time but your money is earning more for you. Menorah affords you that opportunity.
All these said, my dear friend, remember that you are the sole determiner of how the year, your life and desires will turn out. Let yourself dream big and freely this year but also invent the best workable means to ensure that everything you set your heart to do gets done.
Here’s to wishing you a productive 2020!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
